MSc Graduate (2015 - 2016), University of Guelph, Human Health & Nutritional Sciences
Laura’s research is focused on associations between chaos in the family home environment, levels of the stress hormone cortisol, and dietary intake. This research may help us to better understand how stress can contribute to obesity by influencing what foods we choose to eat.
Her favourite part about being on the Guelph Family Health Study team is getting to work with such an enthusiastic and welcoming group of faculty and students. It’s very exciting for her to have researchers from multiple disciplines working together on this study. It motivates her to think about her research from a variety of perspectives. Of course, she also love having the opportunity to interact with all of the wonderful families participating in the study!
